Ruth Evelyn (Kellem) Leffler

Our heavenly Father has enlarged his family as Ruth Evelyn Kellem Leffler joyously joined Him to celebrate life on December 16, 2017. Ruth attended Corydon High School. She enjoyed being a home-maker for many years and continued to provide leadership to the community thru church groups, 4-H, Square Dance, Kentucky Center for the Arts, and the Communities in Education program. She found joy cheerleading her favorite college teams on Saturdays. Through the Communities in Education program she loyally tutored students and was able to mentor a special student for over 3 years. She became involved and dedicated in many community projects working behind the scenes. Her favorite hobbies included sewing, gardening, hospitality, and cooking. Ruth was a devoted resident at Fairington Apartments, Clarksville, with strong involvement in community networking. A volunteer on various committees and held chair position for music and entertainement, monthly dinner prep and plan, card game coordinator, personally welcoming new residents, and the coordinator for the building residents signature on get well cards.

She was the daughter of Ralph and Fern Kellem, deceased, Corydon, and leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter and sons: Brenda Leffler Langen, Clarksville, Jerry Leffler (deceased), Thomas "Kent" Leffler (Becky), Jeffersonville, Scott Leffler (Demesia), Charlestown; siblings Wayne Kellem, Corydon, Ron (Jane) Kellem, Clarksville, Susan Kellem Vaulet, New Albany, Carl Kellem, Corydon, (deceased), Nancy Kellem York, Corydon, (deceased), 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 4 great grand children.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 on Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to their choice charity.
