William T. “Billy Blue” “Herman” Hoffmann, age 78, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away at 11:39 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Clark Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Clarksville.
Blue was born on February 5, 1948, in Madison, Indiana, to the late Robert Hoffman and Lois Blevins Hoffman. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a retired pressman for Standard Gravure. William was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge.
Known to many as “Billy Blue,” he was an outgoing and friendly man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and could often be found at the Eagles Lodge, where he shared countless memories and good times. His warm personality and love of fellowship will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Blue is survived by his daughters, Cyndi Potts and Jan Jeffries (Rex); grandchildren, Jeremy Jeffries, Zac Jeffries, Raymond Buchheit, Alex Buchheit, Dylan Buchheit, and Brett Gutowski; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Martha Clyatt.
A memorial visitation will be conducted from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
