Obituary

Sue Ann Wolpert Balmer was born in 1937 in Austin, Indiana to Edwin and Kathryn Railing Wolpert. She was a 1955 graduate of New Albany High School. She retired from Hancock Fabrics. Sue was a member of the Ohio Falls United Methodist Church of Clarksville for over 60 years. Also, a proud member of  Ramblin' Red Hat Ladies for many years. She was a past member of Ann Rogers Clark Chapter of D.A.R. Society. Sue was a member of the Clarksville Historical Society. She was a RSVP volunteer (retired and senior volunteer program). She enjoyed the time spent with her bunco friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Melvin Leon Balmer.

She leaves behind her daughters, Andrea Amy, Patty Good (Steve), Kathy Quebbeman (Steve), and son Tim Balmer.  She has 3 brothers, Robert, John and Marvin Wolpert. Her grandchildren, Tara Balmer, Brandon Bullock, Beth Trzewik, Kari Smalley, Kimi Bailey, and Kellie Shuford, along with 9 precious great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Chapman Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to your favorite charity.
