Sheryl Ann Lurding

Sheryl Ann Lurding, age 78, of Clarksville, IN passed away at 3:14 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd. Sheryl was born in Clarksville, IN on March 28, 1946, to the late Theodore Charles Shelton and Violet Louise (Knowland) Shelton. Sheryl was a graduate of Clarksville High School and spent her younger years ruling the roller-skating rink.
She was an avid lover of animals, having many pets throughout her life and especially cherished her time with TidBit, Sassy, and Boo. She loved feeding the ducks, geese, and squirrels, and adored butterflies. Sheryl was always full of life. She enjoyed playing slot machines at various casinos, singing her favorite songs on Karaoke, pool parties, playing bingo, and truly loved spending time with family and friends. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Lurding; a brother, Stephen Shelton.

Sheryl is survived by her children, Tony Muncy (Sandra) of Clarksville, IN., and Melissa Daffron (Everett) of Clarksville, IN.; a brother Ted Shelton; grandchildren, Brandi Hepp, Sebastian Hamilton, Chasity Ellis, Jessica Muncy, Cameron Muncy and Ian Muncy; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Sheryl will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, IN., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m.

Sheryl will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, IN
