Sandra D. Talley, age 68, of New Albany, formally of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Hillcrest Village in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on March 2, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois and later adopted to the late John and Mattie Stith.
Sandy was retired from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. She was a gifted southern and Italian cook that poured love into every meal she prepared for family, friends, and coworkers. It was her ministry to cook for others. She embraced every opportunity to explore new places and cultures. She was an avid UofL fan and had a strong love for music. After retirement she was employed with Jim O’Neal Ford as a receptionist where she made many dear friends.
Along with her parents Sandy was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Talley; brother, Thomas Scoloaro; and nephew, Allan Deaver.
Survivors include her children, James (Leigh) Talley, and Jocelyn Talley; grandchildren, BriAnna Talley, Chanel Talley, Brayden Talley and Maya Talley; sister, Jeannie (Dick) Deaver; Nephews, Tommy Scoloaro and Jack Scoloaro; niece, Robin (David) Rhodes; sister-in-law, Cathy Scoloaro; and her longtime best friend, SueAnn Stone.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring and loving nurses, aides, and staff at Hillcrest Village.
A memorial visitation for Sandy will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 1 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, with a celebration of life to follow beginning at 1 p.m. All services will be conducted at the funeral home.
