Robert Dale Gann, age 69, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10:05 p.m. at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.
Born on November 18, 1956, he was the son of the late Lloyd Brance Gann and Lena Maye Moffett Gann.
Robert was a retired painter and the owner and operator of Rob’s Handyman Service for many years. A talented songwriter, he found great joy in writing music, especially gospel songs during the last year of his life. He loved fishing, appreciated the beauty of nature, and enjoyed life’s adventures. Above all, Robert cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was known for his kind heart, willingness to help others, and the love he showed to everyone he met. His faith became an important part of his life, and he devoted much of his final year to writing gospel music.
He is survived by his children, Rachael Stepp, Charles Gann, and Anna “Kati” Gann; his grandchildren, Lacey, Hunter, Hayden, Rain, Joey, Adam, Amelia, Xavier, Aubriella, Eric, and Cairo; and his siblings, Bobby and Shirley.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
