Richard Franklin "Cookie" Cook, age 72, of Borden, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 12:11 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd. He was born on January 15, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Forest Troxel and Lucille Cook Troxel.
Richard was a proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a retired painter. He was a Christian by faith and loved spending time outdoors fishing. Known for his excellent cooking, Richard most enjoyed sharing good meals and laughter with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Danielle Cook-Parihus (Jason); grandchildren, Gage Parihus, Sarenity Parihus, and Jace Parihus; great-grandson, Atlas Parihus; sister, Melinda Troxel (Dennis McMurray); cousin, Sherry Speedy; and a dear friend, Kathy Milan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 W. Harrison Ave., Clarksville, Indiana. A private burial will take place at Indiana Veterans Cemetery.
