Phyllis Virginia (Church) Phillips

Phyllis V. Phillips, 86, died Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. She was born in Peck, Wisconsin and was a stay-at-home mother. She was an army veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville. She loved her family, shopping and sports. She was an avid Green Bay Packers, IU and Reds fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert D. Phillips; a son, Brian Michael Phillips; her parents, Henry Church and Ester Church Christianson; a brother and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, Doug Phillips (Crystal) of Troutman, NC., three daughters, Karen Sarver (Doug) of Marysville, IN., Pam Deeringer (Tim) of Charlestown, IN., and Sarah Montgomery (Tony) of Sellersburg, IN.; grandchildren, Amber Phillips, Doug Phillips Jr. (Amber), Robby Sarver (Jessica), Samantha Miller (Brian), Danielle Glode (Nick), Kriston Pace (Johnny), Ashley Humphreys (Jason), Matt Deeringer (Africa), Alex Deeringer, Brent Montgomery (Cortney) Scott Montgomery (Ashley), Cody Montgomery (Sarah), as well as 24 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Phyllis will be on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, IN 47129. Entombment will be at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, IN.
