Paul Jennings Underhill

Paul Jennings Underhill, age 90, of Clarksville, IN passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Clark Memorial Hospital. Paul was born in Doolittle Mills, Indiana to the late Claude Underhill and Eva Wright Underhill. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville, and a retired employee of the former Jeffboat, where he served many roles such as a marine engineer and marine architect.  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ann Underhill; his siblings, James Underhill of Tell City and Frances Arlene Underhill of the Indianapolis, IN metropolitan area.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Paula Ann Underwood (Darrell) of Clarksville, IN; Grandchildren, Adam Clark (Kelly) of New Albany, IN, Nicholas Clark of Clarksville, IN, and Alex Tubman of Clarksville, IN; great grandchildren, Serena Clark and Tristan Clark; and a sister, Lucille Goldman of New Albany, IN. He had many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

A visitation for Paul will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, IN 47129. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2024, at the funeral home.

Paul will be laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.
