Mora Carey

Mora Elizabeth Carey, age 86, of Clarksville, joined her Heavenly Father on August 17, 2023 at Clark Memorial Hospital.  

Mora was born on August 31, 1936 in Millstone, Kentucky to Elijah and Bertha Collier who proceeded her in death. She was an executive secretary for Greater Clark County Schools, and a baptized believer of the Baptist faith.  

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her son, Kenneth L. Carey; siblings, Virgil Collier, Jerry Collier, Jenny Hardwick, Jimmy Collier and Estill Collier. 

She was survived by her husband of 68 years, William "Bill" Carey, Sr.; her children, Lisa D. Wanty (Mike) of Clarksville, William G. Carey, Jr. (Tami) of Charlestown, and Estill "Alan" Carey (Tammy) of Jeffersonville; Grandchildren, Phillip Carey (Kendall), Jessica Parker, Elizabeth Bentley, Chris Wanty, Cailen Medcraft (John), and William G. Carey III; eight great grandchildren; sister, Carol Caudill and a brother, Mike Collier.  

Visitation for Mora will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, IN. 

Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the funeral home, with visitation starting at 11 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at The Sellersburg Cemetery.
