Matthew Brendan OConnell

Matthew Brendan OConnell, 58, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Louisville and was a maintenance worker for New Directions. He enjoyed participating in Civil War Re-enactments.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brendan Michael OConnell, his parents, Thomas Clay and Annette Raye French OConnell, his mother in law, Mary Jo Babcock, two brothers Michael McCabe OConnell, Keiran Daniel OConnell, and a sister Annette Marie Cunningham.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanine Babcock OConnell, a daughter, Sarah OConnell, his father-in-law, Robert Gilbert Babcock, a sister, Mary Raye Watson of New Albany, three brothers, Thomas Clay OConnell Jr. of Clarksville, Sean Francis OConnell (Pamela), Liam Dennis OConnell (Linda), and Edward Graham OConnell (Evie) all of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 4:00 on Tuesday prior to the service.
