Mark A Craig

Mark Craig, age 73, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY. Born on December 1, 1951, in Floyd County, Indiana to the late William Pete Craig and Maxine Lola Cundiff Craig.  Mark was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and a proud United States Marine Corps veteran who honorably served three tours in Vietnam as a part of the sniper unit. 

Following his military service, Mark dedicated his career to the VA Medical Center as a nutrition specialist. After retirement, he continued to share his skills at Paul's Alignment Center and enjoyed his membership with the Jaycees Club. Mark had a passion for working on classic cars and found joy in listening to oldies music often sharing his favorite tunes with family and friends. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Craig, and his two brothers, Gary Craig and Pete Craig. 

Mark is survived by his children: David A. Craig, Phil T. Swartz, and Dawn R. Harvey; grandchildren, Jarrod Mays, Jessica Mays, Sarah Swartz, Savanah (Ethan) Rauchmiller, Trevor (Rachael) Haley and Ryan Swartz, Great-Grandchildren, Elijah Glasscock, Ensley Rauchmiller, Aiden Haley, Addyson Haley, Dakota Mays, Livvy Mays, Jacob Swartz, Raelynn Swartz;  nephews, Gary Craig, Sammy Craig, and Keith Wheatley. His legacy of service, dedication, and kindness will be cherished by all who knew him. 

Friends may call on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, IN 47129. His funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home. Mark will be laid to rest in Pigeon Roost Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana. 

Mark's dedication to his country, community, and family serves as an enduring inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
