Marjorie Stratton Whitlow, 90, left her earthly body and went to be in the presence of Jesus on March 31, 2023 at River Bend Assisted Living Center in Jeffersonville, IN. where she has lived the last 5 1/2 years. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 45 years serving wherever they needed her. She was known for her kindness and unconditional love and care for her family, friends, and anyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Gil Stratton, and her second husband of 10 years Orvil Whitlow, and siblings, Doyle Parker (Mary), Bill Parker (Edna) Wendie Casey (Herbie), Carol Longwell and Barbara Dierking.
Margie was born in Taylor County, KY., on February 15, 1933 to the late William Porter Parker and Zelma St. Clair. Margie is survived by her sons, Mike Stratton (Liza) and Mark Stratton, two grandchildren, Adam (Brooke) Stratton and Ryan (Ricky) Payne, four great-grandchildren, Finn, Trenten, Gregory and Landon, four siblings, Bobby Parker (Ginny), Danny Parker (Wanda), Brenda Cobb (Jeff) and Terri Parker (Frank), over 60 nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great great nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 08, 2023 at Chapman Funeral Home with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Visitation will be Friday, April 07, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
