Lee “Pat” Watts, 87, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, surrounded by his family, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. He was born in Lost Creek, Kentucky, to the late Andrew Watts Sr. and Opal Watts.
Pat was a proud U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Ford Motor Company. He was blessed with many talents. He was an excellent cook. He was a talented writer who authored several books. He had a special gift for woodworking, from making thoughtful gifts for others to building homes, Pat’s handiwork touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
A lifelong University of Kentucky fan, Pat loved watching the Cats. He attended New Providence Church and was deeply devoted to his faith and his love for the Lord. Pat loved his family and cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Lou Lovely Watts; his son, Gregory Scott Watts; and his siblings, Gene Watts, Shirley Combs, Herschel Watts, and David Watts.
Pat is survived by his children, Dede Smith (Larry) and Gary Watts (Cindy); his grandchildren, Jason Watts, Brett Watts, Maddie Mitchell, Natalie McDaniel, Nick Smith, Jakeb Watts, and Luke Watts; ten great grandchildren; his siblings, Rosa Watts, Reva Turner, Andy Watts (Penny), Howard Watts (Diane), Albert Watts (Kay), Ben Watts (Michelle), and Linda Anderson (Bob); and sister in laws, Nita Watts Myrtle Watts and Donna Watts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 138 Westavia Blvd., Scottsburg, Indiana, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place at noon on Thursday at Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, Kentucky.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Pat may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
