Lana Jean Stokes

Lana Jean McAhron Stokes, age 71, of Clarksville, passed away at 11:51 a.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her residence. Lana was born in Jeffersonville, IN on October 23, 1952, to the late Joseph Chester McAhron and Florence McAhron Brendle. She was a member of Audubon Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, a 1970 graduate of Clarksville High School, and a 1980 graduate of the University of Louisville earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. Prior to retirement, Lana was the Program Coordinator for the UofL Oral Maxilofacial Surgery Department.  In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, studying English History, creating art, collecting Betsy McCall Dolls and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Allen Stokes; her son, Brent Allen Stokes; brother, Ron (Deana) McAhron; nephews, David (Charley) McAhron and Chuck (Clare) Wahl; niece, Kelli (Mike) Nitardy; great nephew, Miles McAhron; great nieces, Madison and Caroline Nitardy.

Visitation for Lana will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, with calling hours from 2 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Ave, Clarksville. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the funeral home. Lana will be laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.
