Lakeshia Thompson Obituary

God blessed this world with a radiant soul, Lakeshia Monique Thompson, born on July 23, 1975, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Francener Thompson and Henry Hull. The youngest of three girls, she was affectionately called “Fat Baby” by her family, but later became widely known as Kiki A.K.A. “Goldfinger”—a name that captured her unique sparkle and touch of gold in everything she did.

LaKeshia attended Detroit Public Schools and proudly graduated from Thomas Cooley High School in 1993. She went on to further her education at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, always eager to learn and expand her horizons.

From an early age, LaKeshia displayed a powerful entrepreneurial spirit—venturing into restaurants, boutiques, and eventually building her legacy businesses, including The Tax Network, an international tax firm, and Golden Sunrise, her most prized project, an assisted living facility in progress. A woman of strong business acumen, she proved time and again that she was a visionary leader, a gifted orator, and an intellectual powerhouse.

Beyond her career, LaKeshia was a proud and devoted mother of four: QiEl, Diamond, Zion, and Cipher. She also cherished her two beloved grandchildren, Alanni and her grandson. She was their guiding light, their example of resilience, love, and ambition.

LaKeshia lived her life with a generous heart and a zest for life. She was known for her culinary talents, her love of music, her dedication to truth, and her unmatched ability to make people laugh. She gave freely, often helping strangers and, in her words, even “feeding her enemies.” To her family, friends, and countless colleagues, she was a source of inspiration, joy, and unwavering support.

She was also a proud member of AOE and the Order of the Eastern Star, where she built bonds of service and sisterhood.

On September 5, 2025, LaKeshia departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and success. She has truly overcome the world.

She was preceded in death by Her parents, grandparents, and several beloved aunts and uncles. Along with her cherished Foster Mother, Mrs. Dorothy Davenport, an educator with the Detroit Public School.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Two sons: QiEl and Cipher,Two daughters: Diamond and Zion, Two grandchildren, Life Partner: Kelly Goodner, Two sisters: Lillian Deborah Thompson and Loretta (Earl), both of Detroit, Michigan, Aunt JoAnne(Michael), Nephews: Ossie and Christian Thompson, Extended family: Linda, Uncle Michael: “Mickle Pickle”,Toya, Asia; Devoted best friend: Dawn Lewis, Cherished friends: Tanika, TheTerrell Family, and a host of extended family, friends, colleagues, and associates.

LaKeshia will be remembered as a beautiful soul, a visionary entrepreneur, and a woman who lived life fully with faith, fire, and compassion. Her presence left an imprint on everyone who knew her, and her legacy will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched.

We will miss you dearly, LaKeshia—our Goldfinger, our beloved Goddess
