Jerome “Jerry” Ray Hart Jr., age 63, passed away peacefully at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.
Born on September 20, 1961, in New Albany, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Jerry Ray Hart Sr. and Linda Lou Ord Hart who survived. He spent his life in the community he loved and was known for his warmth, humor, and generosity.
Jerry retired from the Metal Sales Manufacturing Company and filled his days with the hobbies and passions that brought him joy. He was an avid golfer, a talented guitar player, and a devoted collector of model trains and slot cars. Jerry was also a gifted storyteller whose animated tales never failed to fill a room with laughter.
He had a special gift for bringing people together, hosting unforgettable Derby, Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas parties. His love for life and infectious spirit touched everyone who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Linda Lou Ord Hart; his siblings, Robert Hart (Mitzi), Renee Sharp (Ed), Larry “JR” Hart. (Brandi), and Daniel Hart (Sarah); his nieces and nephews, Erica Clark (Kevin), Haley Scott (Nathan), Caleb Hart, Noah Hart, and Emma Hart; his step mother, Barbara Hart; great-nieces and nephews, and his faithful canine companion, Conan, all of whom he cherished deeply.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Hart Sr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 W. Harrison Ave., Clarksville, IN.
Memorial contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to the Cancer Society or the Sepsis Research Foundation.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
