James Bryant Grady, age 65, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on July 12, 1960, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the son of the late Dexter Benny Grady and Georgia Bell Smith Grady.
He was a member of Radiant City Church in Clarksville, Indiana. James was a professional trucker and driver for over forty years, where he was also the owner of JDM Hauling, formally known as JBG Trucking, and Don’t Drink and Drive Call Grady for a Ride Car Services. He was always the star of the show, keeping laughter going on in every space he entered. He enjoyed old school cars, hanging out with friends, family and driving all over the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dexter Benny Grady and Georgia Bell Smith Grady; Two sisters, Bobbie Loretta Grady Woodruff, and Bertha “Boosie” Grady Watson; and one brother, Christopher Bruce Grady.
Survivors include his wife, Felicia Ann Grady of Clarksville, Indiana; five daughters, Nadia Grady, Ashly Miller, Verka Grady, and Amy Booth; one step-daughter, Ashlee Reed; one son, Shun’Dell Holmes; one step-son Elijah Maxey; one sister, Judy Grady Davis; one brother, Benny Ray Grady; twenty two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation for James will be on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana 47129. His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Chapman Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
