Gene McDonald

Gene McDonald, 92, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd. He was born on November 18, 1928 in New Albany, IN. to Thomas and Adalene McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Mary Elizabeth McDonald and a daughter Rebecca Ann Dement.

Loving father of Linda Sue (Eddie) Mings, Donna Jean (Larry) Klinger, 8 grandchildren, Tony Mings, Eric Mings, Jason Mings, Matt Klinger, Chris Klinger, Danny Thomas, Rick Logsdon, and Shawn Logsdon, several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He retired after 38 years with Phillip Morris. He was a member of Carr Township Baptist Church and Past Master of Depauw Lodge 338. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, riding his golf cart, he was an avid euchre player, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 15 at Chapman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 on Friday prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Carr Township Baptist Church.
