Gary Wayne Humphrey

Gary Wayne Humphrey, age 65, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 6:50 PM in Clarksville, Indiana.

He was born in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Dillon Humphrey and Margaret Enlow Humphrey. Gary was the co-founder of C. King Construction and took great pride in his work. He was a member of the VFW post 1693, Hobart Beach Post in New Albany, Indiana, where he and his wife enjoyed attending memorial events with the other members. Gary also enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding his motorcycle, past times that brought him great joy.

On February 23, 1996, Gary married the love of his life, Shelly Flick Humphrey, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his children: Melissa Roberts (Tay), Randall Roberts (Becky), Melinda Palazzo-Tripp (Adam), and Samuel Palazzo (Lisa); 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Raymond Humphrey and Helen Coomer; and his nephew and business partner, Chris King (Nikki). Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his siblings: William “Butch” Humphrey, Patty Brown, Barbara Manship, Nancy Humphrey, Jackie Humphrey, Brenda J. Humphrey, and Donald Humphrey.

Visitation for Gary will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, with his funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 W. Harrison Ave., Clarksville, IN 47129.
