Emil C Bennett

Emil C. Bennett, age 79, passed away at 2:18 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd. He was born on July 21, 1944, in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Russell Andrew Bennett and Sally Mae (Coomer) Bennett. 

Emil served his country as a US Navy Veteran and he was a retired welder from Jeffboat. After retirement, Emil occupied his time by working as a school bus driver, working as a building maintenance technician, and a mechanic.  His favorite pastime was driving his racecar and working on old cars. Emil was a man of many talents who could do anything. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice C. (Potter) Bennett; his children, Curtis Bennett (Debbie) of Clarksville, and Julie King (John) of New Albany; grandchildren, Cody Bennett of Clarksville, and Bradley Kemp (Tristin) of Marysville; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirlene Ortensie (David) of Clarksville, Terry Bennett (Sandy) of Charlestown, and Donna Nelson of Elizabeth. 

Cremation was chosen and all arrangements have been entrusted to Chapman Funeral Home.
