Obituary

Elizabeth A. Wayne, 78, passed away on Wednesday March 22, 2023 at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Louisville and retired from The Dream Factory in Louisville. She was a member of the Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, and she was the current President of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she was a 46 year member.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bird Henry Meers and Lola Mae Baker Brown, her husband John Wayne, and two grandchildren, Christopher Mitchell and Jordan Wayne.

Survivors include her children, Donald Wayne of Clarksville, Pam Oliver (John) of Jeffersonville and Laura Mitchell (Tim) of Georgetown, KY., a sister, Edna Meers Schraffenberger of Louisville, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Judy Rogers of Shelbyville, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, 2118 Hamburg Pike, Jeffersonville, IN. 47130. Visitation on Friday will be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at Chapman Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM at the church on Saturday.
