Edsel Franklin Richards

Edsel Franklin Richards, 89, died Wednesday, April 06, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Harrison County, IN., and was a retired Maintenance Engineer for General Electric. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of DePauw Masonic Lodge #338 New Albany, a member of the Tri County Shrine Club, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was a member of Park Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Waldeck Richards, three daughters, Sharon Elbert, Susan Cole (Ron),  and Amy Dezarn all of Clarksville, three sons, Kevin Richards of New Albany, Michael Moody (Madonna) of Sellersburg, and Don Moody of Louisville, two brothers, Dallas Richards (Jane) of Jeffersonville, and Brooks Richards (Edith) of New Salisbury, IN., a sister Barb Huffmon (Don) of Memphis, IN., 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 09, 2016 at Park Memorial United Methodist Church, 1820 E. Park Place, Jeffersonville with entombment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 on Friday at Chapman Funeral Home, and from 10:00 to 11:00 Saturday at the church. Expressions of Sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
