Donald E. Bertram, age 83, formerly of Clarksville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 6 :56 AM. He was born on April 14, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Omer Bertram and Mildred Siler Bertram.
Don was a veteran of the United States Army, a proud and dedicated over-the-road truck driver for Loeffel Steel Products until his retirement. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures—he loved fishing, watching NASCAR and drag racing, attending wrestling matches, watching westerns, and never missed a good meal.
He is survived by his children, Pam Bertram Weber (Brad) of Indiana, Debbie Bertram Luber (Robert) of Indiana, Jessica Bertram (Michael Mattox) of Indiana, and Brandon Mattingly (Sara) of Michigan; his siblings, Ron Bertram of Kentucky and Marilyn Koger (Jack) of Florida; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lee Sandy Bertram; siblings Edna Mae Bertram, Ruth Maish, Ramona Piercy, and Anita Davies.
Cremation has been chosen, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Chapman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
