Denise Marie Thomas, 64, of Nicholasville, KY, passed away on December 15, 2025. Born August 9, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Cecil B. Thomas; her father, Arncie Lewis; and her brother, Rick Lewis. Denise is survived by her mother, Ada Large, and stepfather, Willard Large; her children, Jennifer Nicole Thomas and Cecil Todd Thomas (Patricia); her grandchildren, Haley Gomez, Caleb Thomas, Deasis Thomas, Abbigail Thomas, and Waylon Thomas; her sister, Darlene Lehmkule; and her sister-in-law, Debra Thomas. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her greatly. She was a longtime member of Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Lexington, KY, and she valued her church family. Denise worked as a bus driver with Bluegrass Ride in Nicholasville, where she found great joy serving others and sharing kindness, and was loved by those she helped and worked alongside. Denise had a gentle spirit and an easy warmth that drew people to her. A memorial visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. then followed by her memorial service starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 27th at Greater Faith Apostolic Church, 3416 Clays Mill Road, Lexington, KY.
