Buddy Bateman

Buddy (Pop) Bateman, age 72 of Clarksville, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and daughter on Thursday, July 14, 2022  after a long battle with cancer. Buddy  was born August 2, 1949  in New Albany, IN. to mother Rachel Bateman and father Oscar Bateman. Buddy was a graduate of New Albany High School. He worked as a battery service tech for Cardinal Carryor of Louisville. He loved racing motorcycles,cars, shows and drag racing his '57 Chevy. He took great pride in being a pop to his two grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Connie Nelson Bateman, daughter, Tiffney Smith (Tim), two grandchildren, Nolan and Weston Smith, brother-in-laws, Fred (Mary) Smith and Robert Smith, cousin, Darlene Bishop, and two half sisters, Jackie and Joyce Goforth.

 A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:30 P.M. with a memorial service at 7:30 P.M. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Ave., Clarksville, Indiana.
