Loran L "Ickey" Mitchell Sr.

Loran L "Ickey" Mitchell Sr., 79, died Saturday, September 09, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Jeffersonville, and was a retired Lift Driver and Parts person for Navastar. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Evelyn Hume Mitchell, and siblings, Juanita (Dede) Finch, Bettye Dickman, Pat Rowe, and Bill Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife Martha Curtis Mitchell whom he married on October 6, 1956, two sons, Loran Mitchell Jr. and his wife Kim, David Mitchell and his wife Lana, a daughter, Lisa Hylton and her husband Danny, two brothers, Carlos "Bud" Mitchell and Robert "Bob" Mitchell, 9 grandchildren, Amie Bradford (Robbie), Dana Hylton, Eric Mitchell (Becky), Brittney Stewart (Teddy) Diana Hylton, Andreu Mitchell, Peyton Mitchell, Ariana Mitchell and Hallie Mitchell, 11 great-grandchildren, Ethan Wheat, Ian Prinz, Anna Hylton, Ryan Mitchell, Maggie Hylton, Harper Hylton, Avery Bradford, Daelin Marsh, Garrett Mitchell, Oliver Stewart, Charlotte Stewart.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home with entombment at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday, and after 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday.
